Kanji of the Month - June

Every Month, M.A.C Blog will have an article elaborating on the various Kanji that are used in Japanese.

The Kanji of the month is Ten. It means sky or heaven and signifies purity, spirituality or heavenly feeling. It could also mean immortality in a different setting.

A Street Fighter character named Akuma uses a special finisher where this Kanji lights up on his back which actually signifies immortality or invincibility.

Character of the Month - June

The Anime character of the month is Goku a.k.a Kakarot a.k.a Son Goku from the Dragon Ball series. A infant Saiyan who was sent to destroy Earth ends up being a savior of Earth and the universe against many mighty enemies.

Most noteworthy amongst his enemies include Vegeta, Broly, Freiza, Cell and Majin Buu. He personifies Hope, Faith and purity. His signature move is the Kamehameha. He is the first saiyan after thousands of years to achieve ascension. His Super Saiyan transformation has saved him from lots of painful battles. Till the end of DragonBall GT, Goku masters Super Saiyan 4. His have-to-win attitude added to his deadly arsenal of fighting talents makes him a very formidable ally to the Earth.

Arguably the strongest character the Anime world has ever seen.

“If I won’t ,who will?!”

MAC Meetup II - Pizza Hut

After much anxiety and a hope in the future , the day actually arrives. Set in a posh Pizza Hut in Juhu were placed 30+ odd Anime Otakus. Some a little more than others. Pyratic-sama used his brains and had booked the place with a safety time, keeping in mind the average human entrance time :P.

Omedeto!!
It was again time for introductions.Kurayami was made the scapegoat yet again ._. People came and introduced themselves one-at-a-time followed mostly by sarcastic comments. Notable amongst them were Pyratic with his physical remark, Popo-sama with his narration of lustful hentai craving and being sent to a psychiatrist due to his Anime addiction. Popo-sama Ftw! And also Tatai-chan who mesmerized the audience with her charming nature :D. Soko wa ieee desu ne,tatai-chan :D.

Dragonball Z came out to be the unanimous favorite followed closely by Bleach/Naruto and One piece. Due to the introduction rounds, new Anime names were being thrown around which intrigued the Anime lovers and gave them more to feed on. Speaking of food, the waitress was a chinese/nepali/japanese hybrid too :P. As for the Anime cravings, hats-off to Anirudha-kun and Niwa-kun for their efforts in writing tens of DVD's (requested by Members) and giving it away for free. That a real contribution! and they didn't even sleep the night before. :O

In Ani-kun's words,
"You just give me the links. I will download them (Anime). But GIVE ME THE LINKS! XD"

The excitement was raised when Niha-chan arrived with her kawaii stockings and her outspoken and outstanding demeanor. Sugeee!
Amien and Niha then spoke about the Cosplay division and also found out a willing candidate. Unfortunately there was none shorter than her (minus her heels that is) XD.

The last but not the least person to arrive was Path-san who was his usual Otaku self. After his good comments about the whole turnout, it was time for serious things.

Taicho's were appointed, each with a dedicated task.

Communications and Management - Niwa
Downloading - Anirudha
Promotions - Pyratic
Photoshop and Video Edits - Abhishek and Grimmjow
Blog and News - Kurayami and Abhishek *At last Kurayami-san gets the rights :P.*
Cosplay - Niha and Amien
Manga - Grimmjow
Member Coordination - Popo Chibi

And now it was time to feast.
Itadakimasu!!

And now it was time to leave but just for now. With a promise to meet again very soon , the group disbanded. Some other enthusiastic members then went for an after party which was awesome coming from the horse's mouth itself :D.

Reminiscence of the 16th - MAC is born

M.A.C - Mumbai Anime Club

16th of May 2010 - Start of a Revelation

After much furore and rampant publicity, a small but etiquette meet-up for Otakus finally took place with much subdued enthusiasm and surprise at InOrbit, Mumbai. Little did we expect that we were going to pass the total headcount for the meet as more than hardly 10. People arrived, slowly but surely. Though it wasn't an impressive count at first, in due time we got a sturdy group by our side.

An hour went by just as the everyone settled down after the voracious consumptions of foot long sandwiches (courtesy Subway). With the laptop being the only source of any kind of Anime references , people flocked towards it in a calm manner. Fans bought their external HD's and Pendrives along and seized everything they liked from Yasser's laptop.

We were soon joined by Path-san, a experienced and old school Otaku along with his friend Karan-san.

As our count steadily improved and as the word spread around like a wildfire, we decided to take our bandwagon to some place quieter and serene. Abhishek-san (who lived just a few mins off the place) guided everyone to a nearby plush Graden. Everyone were able to sit in peace and the meet officially began. Everyone stepped up to get acquainted with each other and start off what till yesterday people mistook for a playgroup. It was a five minute walk from InOrbit to the Park, which naturally took its brunt on us (Akshay-san!!) in the harsh sun. But we made it somehow :P

Fortunately for us, even on a Sunday we got ourselves a nice shady secluded spot to discuss what we bring to this place.

As we finished up with everyone's Introductions and having a few laughs at Yasser's expense , we began with planning and dividing the initial workload for all the members actively involved in the making and maintaining of MAC. A temporary staff was appointed that day onwards to hold MAC together along with loads of other things. Everyone of us shared what they like the most about Anime, Manga and what not! Path-san's valuable inputs helped us out a lot to shape the construction of MAC. As soon as the weather began seeming gloomy, we decided it was indeed getting late and we still had to celebrate today's success.

It was a start of many things to come we could sense as we walked out of the park and big everyone farewell. With tons of promises to fulfill, we set out to meet each other again. Only this time, with more people, more Anime and a few surprises in store for everyone.

Off-Topic:
Akshay-san has personally nicknamed our crew as the Mugiwara crew :)
We love to sing, dance, eat, drink and be merry!
We share the same interests! All of us have our similar dreams.

P.S: Especially for Newcomers
Do not, and i mean do NOT offer to pay for the President's or any other member of the Mugiwara Crew's drinks.
Well ^_^ we'll only warn you once.
